5 Things I’m Loving Right Now // #2

14th May 2017

Hello! This week feels like it has been pretty long and pretty meh, but at least it’s over now and it’s getting closer and closer to my holiday, which I am in desperate need of! Canny bloody wait like.

Ava’s had a great week at school and gone running in almost every day which is just wonderful, and despite the fact that my leggings are on backwards right now, things are starting to look up (if I ignore a load of shit anyway!) and I’m feeling more positive.

So, keeping on with the positive side of life I thought I would share 5 things I’m loving right now.

Sunshiney days

I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it many, many more times again, but sunshine really makes me a much happier person. I just feel so much more free and uplifted when the sun is out and it is nice and warm, and at this point I wonder why I am still living in good old crap-weathered England.

I love the bright days and blue skies, and getting freckles across my nose, and not wearing a coat, and getting my pasty legs out, and spending hours outside with Ava.

Barefoot Wine’s new pink Pinot Grigio

I haven’t been drinking much recently (I’m okay, don’t worry), but when I have I’ve really been enjoying a glass of Prosecco (or 4), as well as this lovely summery Rosé – a new launch from Barefoot Wine – a dry style Pink Pinot Grigio just in time for the Spring and Summer seasons. I love rosé, but I’m quite fussy with them and I don’t tend to like any that are quite dark pink and a bit on the heavier side. But this is lovely and pale and perfect to sip outside in the warmer evenings. It still tastes slightly sweet to me, but not too much and I really enjoyed drinking it over a couple of nights. It features notes of apple tart, peach and raspberry, and I love its fruitiness without it being too tangy. It apparently pairs perfectly with a light seafood spaghetti, and I can really imagine that working so well together. It costs £6.99.

Exercising

Okay, I don’t bloody love the actual exercise part, but I am so, so glad that I have started working out again most days. I start to see a difference in my body straight away when I do, and it’s so nice after feeling so rubbish about myself for a wee while now. I love feeling a bit more toned and hopefully very soon my clothes won’t be quite so tight!

My new photography backdrops from Capture by Lucy

The very lovely Lucy has recently(ish) created some gorgeous backdrops for bloggers and other creatives (ha!) to take their product or social media photos on. I held off on getting one for quite a while because I was worried I wouldn’t end up using them, and they aren’t crazily cheap (they’re also not a bad price for the brilliant quality and size), but I’m so happy I did. I love the two I have so much, and they make taking nice photos for the blog SO much easier.

I have the ‘Pink Plaster‘ and the White Floorboards vinyl backdrops, as I love light coloured backgrounds, and that pink is just so pretty and I couldn’t resist. They look great, and look so ‘real’ in photographs. They’re also a really good size and store easily in the cardboard tube they came in, so I can just whip them out when I need to take photos.

I probably sound daft, but I find it quite fascinating that the backdrops are all created from photographs that Lucy (who is an awesome photographer by the way) has taken herself! She talks about where she took the photo and I love that!

The next six months

Or the idea of them anyway. It’s the start of the summer, my holiday to Portugal is in a few weeks and I’m hopeful that things will start to get better over the next six months. It could just be that I’m ignoring the reality of what could happen, but I’m feeling positive right now so I’m going with that.

Then we’ll hopefully have a nice summer, and break from school, the odd trip away, my 33rd birthday, and then in October we’ll be welcoming a new addition to the family, and a new cousin for Ava, and my step-brother is coming back from New Zealand again for a few weeks! We’ve already got a couple of things planned and I can’t wait! It should hopefully be a really good year.

What have you been loving? Please share in the comments!
