Claire Danes, Cormoran Strike, and Broken Blogs #LittleLoves

29th January 2016

Hello! This week has gone bloody fast hasn’t it? Which is fine by me, January can get it’s arse out of here as fast as it possibly can, in my opinion. Brrr and meh.

Welcome to this weeks Little Loves!

read

I’ve read my to-do lists. A lot. And then I’ve re-written them for the next day or the next week, which is always satisfying isn’t it? I’ve read lots of blog posts but I can’t think of any particular one’s I’ve enjoyed (sorry! It’s not that I haven’t enjoyed any, I just have a terrible memory!).

I did actually finally start a book this week; ‘Career Of Evil’ by Robert Galbraith (aka J.K Rowling) but I didn’t get very far with it and haven’t picked it (aka my kindle) up again since so I probably won’t get back to it for another five years or so. I read the first two books in the series about Cormoran Strike and loved them, and people have said that this is the best yet. So I’m looking forward to getting back to it in five years time.

watched

Ooh I’ve watched a bit more TV over the last couple of weeks. I finished watching Season 4 of Homeland and have just started Season 5. I get so into series’ like this and just want to stay up all night watching them (and sometimes do). I think Claire Danes is such a brilliant actress. I realised the other day that I couldn’t think who on earth the actress who plays Carrie was, even though I knew I knew, because she’s just such a believable character and she plays her so well.

Shall I just miss this whole section out from now on….?!

wore

Ava was undressed after dinner and she came in wearing my knitted jumper, she looked so cute and reminded me of Boo from Monsters Inc 🙂 She wouldn’t let me get a picture of her stood up in it though.

wearing mummy's jumper

And we’ve been wearing bobble hats, scarves and lots of clothes as it’s been absolutely freeeezing. I can’t seem to even get warm in my own house, and I just want to hug the radiator.

She also wore this for a trip to the park (with the flaming nursery bear) and to town and dinner at Prezzo. She looked so cute, and grown up too.

heard

I have had the song ‘Wasn’t Expecting That’ by Jamie Lawson in my head all week. It’s such a lovely song and the video is really lovely too, really emotional, but in a good way really. It makes me cry.

& lastly...

This post may partly have been about last week more than this week. I almost had this post ready to go last week, when my site went down and continued to be down until bloody Wednesday morning this week! It’s been so frustrating. And typically on Wednesday I had my highest pageviews ever (apart from when I’ve had a competition running) so they could have been really good if the site hadn’t gone down. Woe is me and FML and all that bullshit.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time speaking to my hosting company (Bluehost) and my ISP and they couldn’t find the problem. They finally discovered it was a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack against the server, which apparently uses a wide range of IP addresses to bombard the server with traffic. Anyway, it was finally back on Wednesday morning, and it was such a relief! I had actually written quite a lot of posts whilst it was down (obviously not being able to promote my posts or check my stats gave me some extra time!), so for once I actually have some posts scheduled, which is nice.

Hope you’ve had a lovely week!

  1. Ava is just the cutest! I bet she did look like Boo in that jumper, my two girls are equally as unco-operative when I want a photo!
So frustrating when you have server issues! My old blog got hacked last year and it was a nightmare! I’m with tshost now and they are fab.
