The First Christmas, Sparkly Nails, and Chocolat! #LittleLoves

23rd December 2016

It’s been a pretty terrible week and I am hugely overwhelmed and anxious! But I’m sure I’ll be alright soon. The list of shitty things feels pretty endless – eye infections, doctors appointments, more illness, no sleep – and plenty more crap that means I’ve had no time to get anything done. Oh well, I’m sure all will be well by Christmas day – even if I can only see my presents through these slits for eyes that I have and I’m in the horrible pain I’m in now, we’ll be grand. I’m kind of struggling with life a bit at the moment – MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Welcome to this weeks Little Loves!

Read

This nativity book to Ava that was mine when I was little. I do love that she’s got all interested in the story of baby Jesus and that important side of Christmas from learning about it at school. It’s lovely seeing the things she knows and understand about Christmas change each year as she grows older.

I also got a lovely note and box of Christmas Hotel Chocolat from a lovely brand and lady that I’ve worked with quite a bit this year.

Watched

Lots more of The Good Wife – something massive happened that I wasn’t expecting at all and it was horrible! I said this about Gilmore Girls too, but I really thought that all of the many seasons of The Good Wife would last me ages, and they really haven’t.

Wore

Christmas nails! They’re red and sparkly, but in a vaguely more subtle way and I love them! Unfortunately all my nails broke last week before I got them done, but at least they grow quickly when I have them done.

I’ve also been having to wear my glasses and no mascara because of this damn infection. I do feel particularly beautiful right now with my puffy eyes, no mascara and extreme tiredness making me look (and feel) about seventy.

Heard

This James Arthur song – I’m not exactly a fan of his, but I think this song is sooo lovely. I love the lyrics (except for the throwing up bit).

I’ve also finally been listening to some Christmas songs – Ava and I had a Christmas album on whilst we decorated the tree this week, and we were dancing around and singing together – it was certainly the highlight of an otherwise crappy week.

Made

Wahoo, I actually have something to share here! I made this Christmassy clementine raw chocolate this week…

I hope you all have a wonderful, wonderful Christmas with your loved ones, and have a nice relaxing break from everything! xxx

  1. Oh my gosh, I remember that nativity book from my first school! What a blast from the past! The Good Wife…was it…THAT bit? The bit with…where…well, if it’s the bit I’m thinking of then I STILL cry about it every now and then, and I watched it just over one year ago! It traumatised me. Keep going though, there’ll be tears every now and then but it’s just so, so worth it. Love your Christmassy nails. Hope you all have a brilliant Christmas x #LittleLoves
