There are the days full of tears, and tantrums and tiredness. When you feel like the day and the emotional rollercoaster you are on will never end. There are days full of nappies, or wees on the floor, with fights over food and “please just eat one more”.
It’s worth it.
There are the battles over toys, getting dressed and getting out the door, the stresses and the struggles when you feel like a crap mother once more. The tiredness looms big and affects everything you do, everything feels difficult and you can’t help but feel blue.
It’s worth it.
It is all worth it. As a mother, as a parent, we work bloody hard to look after our children well and to be there for them, and love them and give them everything we have. The days can be long and completely exhausting and in between those challenging days we often don’t get enough sleep to re-energise us to start all over again the next day. It IS hard. It DOES leave you desperate for some time alone; to go to the loo in peace, without someone grabbing at your leg and asking for a(nother) snack or to watch some more eggs being unwrapped on YouTube.
But it’s all totally worth it. It’s worth it for the kisses and the cuddles and the incredible love. It’s worth it to watch them grow and develop in to amazing little people supported and loved by you. It’s worth it when they have been out at their Grandma’s for the afternoon and they run up to you and give you a big hug; so excited to see you and be with you again, their favourite person. When they make you laugh or even when they make you cry and you feel that intense rush of love for this little person that you have created.
I love being a mum; it is all I ever wanted to be. It is everything I always imagined and a whole lot more, it is also harder than I ever thought it could be. But it is really, really worth it.

Lovely post that really resonates. Sometimes it is hard to be a parent, but the good, the great so outweighs the bad.

Thank you. It really does x

It really does. Thanks for commenting Merlinda x
Aaah โ this is such a lovely post and really worth remembering on a bad day.
I waited such a long time for my babies. I had losses and heartbreak and the route to motherhood was long and arduous. It didn’t come easy and I very nearly gave up.
That said, there are days when I feel as if I’m not cut out for the job; when I wonder what the hell I’m doing… and then I remember that the alternative โ NOT having my beautiful, miracle boys โ is much, much worse. xx #BrillBlogPosts
It is so worth it, isn’t it? The cuddles are my favourite too. Great post :0 #sharewithme #MMWBH

It is totally worth it #weekennbloghop
Such a beautiful post Louise!
These are fantastic reflections. It’s always helpful to be able to take a step back and see the bigger picture like this; in the midst of it all, that doesn’t always seem possible – but it is <3
Such a lovely post. You’re absolutely right in every way. I sometimes wonder why I rush around so much trying to fit everything in – but it takes one moment for my son to do something, a cuddle, a clever conversation and it’s ALL WORTH IT. Beautiful. #PoCoLo
Such a lovely post and made me a bit teary! Thanks so much for sharing with the Monday #pinitparty. Have pinned ๐

Oh Louise this is such a perfect Motherhood post, brimming with love. You’re so right, it IS worth all the above and we would do to remember that in the midst of the chaos that is family life. Thank you so much for linking this up at #sharethejoy – hope to see you again next week x
Amen to that! It certainly is totally all worth it – and what we have to go trhrough. Thank you for linking to #PoCoLo x
What a lovely post! Parenting is tough no matter whether you are with them 24/7 or out at work (like me!). I get that little person running to me every time I pick him up from wherever he is and the look of excitement on his face, ready to show me what heโs been doing is just the best. The night-time struggles to get him into his pjโs are remedied by night-time cuddles. Being a mummy is the best โ even in the hardest times. Thanks so much for linking up to #twinklytuesdays xx
