Moving, Mr Robot and Migraines #LittleLoves

19th August 2016

Hello! How are you? This week seems to have flown by but also somehow dragged. I’m knackered because I’m really struggling to sleep and Ava keeps waking up stupidly early despite some late nights. Now I seem to be getting ill and everything hurts, so that’s fun. Oh well, que sera sera. It’s very nearly the weekend so that’s awesome.

Welcome to this weeks Little Loves!

Read

I’ve been reading a book for what feels like aaages, and I’m a bit bored to be honest. I’d heard good things about ‘Moving‘ by Jenny Eclair, but it is looong and sloooow, but I’ve read to much to do away with it now and I need to see it to completion. However I thought I must be getting near the end now so I could finally move on with my life – nope 52%. FML.

Watched

A few new things for once, actually. We started watching Mr Robot on Amazon Prime and I got into it really quickly but then I’ve got slightly bored; it’s still good though.

Then we also started Stranger Things after everyone has been saying how good it is – I’m not really sure if it’s my kind of thing yet though.

I also watched a First Dates which I really enjoyed – I think it’s a new series? I also finally finished Gossip Girl after thinking that I had completely finished it years ago, but actually missed the entire last season – I still don’t understand how. And I’m watching Pretty Little Liars when it comes on Netflix each week – how on earth did we cope in the past waiting for the next episode of our favourite programmes each week?! I’m really loving it, but bloody hate waiting. Ooh and I’ve just realised there’s a new one on tonight! (it’s Wednesday).

Heard

I’ve listened to Wand Erection ‘History’ quite a bit, because I’m cool like that. I’ve also heard A playing the recorder (I use the term playing very loosely) as well as a lovely whistle she found amongst her toys A. LOT. It’s been lovely indeed.

Wore

I got a Daith piercing since my last Little Loves a few weeks ago!

You can just about see it in my ear here!

I got it to help with my migraines as I’d read so much about it helping people. I’ve had bad ones for years but for months now I’ve had them every day so I thought it was worth a try! I’m going to be writing a post about it really soon, so if anyone else has had it done I’d love to hear your experience of it please!

And lastly…

We stayed at the very beautiful Threadneedles Hotel in London last weekend and it was so wonderful – I really didn’t want to leave. I booked a Luxury room but we were upgraded to a studio and it was huge! We were greeted with Prosecco and cupcakes on arrival which made Ava very happy (the cupcakes, not the Prosecco, although she was happy for me). It was so lovely, and I’ll be writing about it all soon.

  1. Ooh those cupcakes look so yummy! Definitely keep watching Stranger Things. I’m not usually into that kind of thing, but I was 100% hooked (and we watched it in about 3 days haha). have a lovely week xx

My mum got a daith piercing a while ago to help with her headaches too, she says it hasn’t ‘cured’ them but have definitely eased them up. I hate it when you read a book that never seems to get anywhere, I need to be quicker at giving up on them. Glad I came across your blog, off to have a nose now! xx

The hotel sounds really lovely and relaxing and I’m trying to imagine what a studio must be like. I don’t think I’d have wanted to leave :D. My brother keep telling me to watch Me Robot. It’s a bit intense so I watched Outlander first!

  4. Hotel sounds amazing and who doesn’t want to be greeted with Prosecco and cakes. We are staying in London this Sunday, but sadly I don’t think we will get the same greeting in a Premier Inn lol. Really interested to see how you get on with the daith piercing. I suffer with migraines and it must be awful if you were suffering every day x

Oh I will be checking into your migraine post, as sufferer I struggle daily so will be really interested to see if the piercing works. I take medication daily for them. I have seriously considered having the piercing! The cup cakes look yummy! Popping over from Little Love xx

Those cakes look yummy. I hope the piercing helps. I hate books that go nowhere. x

    What a lovely week!!
I know what you mean about having to wait a week between episodes. I’ve ended up saving up a load to watch together and enjoyed them much more (as I’ve found not much happens in a single episode of PLL), it just means waiting even longer though!
Your piercings look so cool, I really hope your latest one helps with the migraines, you’ll have to let us know xx

  8. That’s hotel looks fab! Cupcakes on arrival would make me very happy too!
