Princess Queens, Rude Men, And a Whole Lot of Crazy // The Things She Says #5

22nd October 2015

Welcome to another ‘The Things She Says’. I think at the age Ava is right now she makes me laugh the most when we have a proper conversation about something, or she’s telling me all about something. She sounds so incredibly grown up and really young and cute at the same time.

The Things She Says

Last night she was telling us all about her day at nursery (for once!) and she rattled off this non-stop sentence all about how “Flynn Ryder (not his real name! but she does use his full name!) was naughty and the teacher had to tell his Daddy that Flynn Ryder had made very bad choices today, and Rebecca was not being very nice and I asked her to be nice to everyone and she said she would be”. It’s so adorable. She is such a lovely, caring little girl. If someone is upset she will really worry about them and just be so concerned and want to help make them feel better. And she just doesn’t seem to understand why someone wouldn’t be very nice to others or why they would snatch something from her. She makes me feel very proud.

Here are some of the funny things she has said recently:

Eating salty popcorn: “It’s nice and sweet”

“Mummy this man isn’t saying scuse me, he’s saying ‘out my way’.”

To me: “You bring the good, I bring the crazy. No, I bring the good, you bring the crazy.”

A man cleared away our plate lids on the ship and I said thank you. Ava said “thank you” and then, “that was kind of him”.

Ava: “Bye mummy”
Me: “Where are you going?”
Ava: “I’m not going anywhere, you’re going”
Me: “Oh where am I going?”
Ava: “A sharks going to eat you”
Me: “Oh no! Will you be sad if a shark eats me?”
Ava: “No”
Me: “Oh, why not?”
Ava: “Because I’m going to get a robot mummy”.

Facing away from me: “I love you”
Me: “I love you too”
Ava: “I wasn’t talking to you, I was talking to the doughnuts”
Ooook then.

We were in the car in Spain, all of us chatting and looking out the window at a dog and people. I said something to her and she just said, “Let me carry on mum”.

“Look at that Princess” (pointing at the cover of a magazine in Portugal which had the Queen wearing a crown on!)

Having a shower with daddy in Spain: “that’s like a sausage isn’t it daddy?, because sausages are long”!!!

“Mummy look it’s Tommy and Jerry”.

Singing: “Mummy had a baby and she couldn’t put her act together” WHAT?!

I asked ava what she had for her school dinner:
“Burgers and yucky stuff. Like tomaaatoes and courgette”.

“I had chocolate pudding at nursery. So I can’t have chocolate after (her dinner), so can I watch something?”.

I told our cat Daisy off for scratching at the bathroom door, Ava gave me a look, went to the door and said really gently to Daisy “Dais, maybe you could do that on the bedroom door” and then gave me another look. So. cute.

I love reading back on these things she’s said. Sometimes I wish I could quickly record her speaking because some of the things she comes out with are so lovely and funny (well I think so anyway!).

Have your kids said anything funny recently?

Looooove hearing these! Well perhaps not the sausage one but all the rest! And that is an adorable picture. Just wanna kiss her and hug her! Kiss her for me please xx

These are so funny! I love the ‘bad choices’ comment. She’s old before her time. My Charlie took the ‘sausage’ comment to another level when we were living in our old house. She was playing with playdoh whilst Chris was stood outside chatting to the neighbours. She followed him outside with something she’d made, held it up proudly for everyone to see before saying “look Daddy! It’s your funny snake!” – uhhhhh cringe 🙈 xxx

  3. It sounds like you’re little girl must just be a bit brilliant to be around. These are just so adorable and hilarious. You had me at robot mummy, but then it got even better with her telling the doughnuts she loved them. Priceless! #ftmob

  4. Oh Ava is just adorable – love this list of things that she has said recently. What a lovely caring and polite little girl she seems to be – I did love her saying “thank you” to the man taking the plates away followed by “that’ was kind of him” and her comment about “you bring the good, I bring the crazy” made me laugh – think you both have the right combination of good and crazy going on there! Thanks for linking up to #ftmob 🙂
