I have been reading a bit of The Cake Shop in the Garden by Carole Matthews. I have read some other books of hers before and loved them, but this one is not drawing me in as much as I would like. I think once I get a bit further into the main storyline I will probably enjoy it more and won’t want to put it down (or I am hoping so), but at the moment I am not loving it.
I finished both Suits and Revenge this week up to the seasons that are available on Netflix. When I love a programme like I do these two I just want to binge watch them but then I hate it when they finish and I haven’t got the next series to watch.
I love being into something and so I haven’t started watching anything else yet because I need to start something new. I think I’m going to try Scandal because I hear a lot of good things about it, but I started it a few years ago and didn’t get into quickly so I stopped. Have you seen Scandal? What do you think of it if so?
This week I shared my first ever Outfit of the Day post! I’ve been wanting to do one for ages as I love seeing other people’s but I never remember to take photos of my outfits. Hence why there are usually no pictures in this section!
I love these trousers from Topshop, and Ava’s little bunny leggings too.
Yesterday I got my first ever gel manicure as a practice for my wedding and I really like it. I love that it should stay on for a few weeks as nail varnish never stays on me for long and I love having painted nails. It’s not perfect though – there’s too big a gap around the edges for my liking on my left hand, which is annoying. I went for a bright coral-y orange to be nice and summery. (Please excuse my hands on the photo; I’m not 80 honestly, nor do I have sausages for fingers.)
This week we have been looking for a song for our wedding for the recession at the church so we have been playing songs to each other from YouTube. Paul wants something church-y, traditional and on the organ and I’d just like a song we both like that is more modern. Listening to loads of songs played on the organ makes me want to scream a little bit.
I have made very little this week. I have made raw chocolate hearts as usual, and lots of cups of tea, and that is about it. I’m too busy to cook (unless it’s chocolate!). Luckily we have a rather good chef in the house called Daddy.
If you are reading this on Friday 19th then as you are reading this I am either on my way to Brighton or I am already there – on my hen do! I’m so excited. A few days away with the girls is just what I need and hopefully we will get some sunshine (although my phone says it is going to rain on Saturday which is our main day there so cross your fingers for me that it will be sunny please!).
And also today it is exactly one month until our wedding! That’s crazy. It literally seems like it was only a few months ago that I was saying ‘it is a year til our wedding!’. I am excited and stressed in equal measures! But I know everything will be alright in the end, and if it isn’t then it won’t matter at all, and we will still have an amazing day. You may remember me saying aaaages ago that I may have naked bridesmaids at my wedding as we didn’t have any dresses for them at that moment – well, we still may have naked bridesmaids at our wedding! You can see why I’m a bit stressed can’t you?!
Hope you have all had a lovely week, and have a great sunshiney weekend! xxx
