The Spring Home Edit, With Amara

12th May 2016

I love Spring and Summer time and all the pretty colours it brings. I love the yellows and the bright blue skies and the lighter evenings.

At this time of year though, my house can start to look a little drab. The whole place could really do with repainting now but that isn’t a possibility at the moment, and so I’ve been looking for ways for brightening up my home for Springtime with the decor, to help give it a new lease of life.

I love using cushions and throws and more summery colours of bedding to brighten up the home. It’s an easy way to have a quick makeover for a new season without having to redecorate or spend loads of money. The walls in our house are quite plain and we have quite a bit of white, which means accessories and decor can be changed and updated when we get bored or as our tastes change.

I had never heard of luxury homeware brand Amara until they contacted me recently, but now I am in love – they have so many beautiful things for the home, and I want them all.

Amara have actually been around since 2005 where they started with a brick and mortar shop in Chelmsford, stocking the best in home accessories and carefully curated interior must-haves. The shop helped to initially build their client base and relationships with the world’s most coveted luxury brands. They then spotted a gap in the online market place for a distributor of true luxury homeware, and so they created Amara.co.uk.

They stock such a wide range of products for the home, and I could browse the beautiful site for hours (and I have). They have so many gorgeous luxury brands, such as Mulberry Home, Robery Cavalli, and Oscar de la Renta (does anyone else say that the way Carrie Bradshaw does in Sex and the City??), and stock so any beautiful products for your home.

We have a black sofa in our dining room and the walls in there are white which I really like, but it could definitely do with brightening up for Spring and Summer. I love a big throw on a sofa – you can change it when you feel like it, and throw (ha!) it in the washer once the cats have slept on it too many times. I love this blue one.

I love having lots of comfy cushions around my house, and I love how you can change the look of a room with them and make it all cosy. These beautiful bright and summery cushions from Missoni and Liberty of London would really brighten up my dining room.

I’m not a ‘matchy-matchy’ kind of person, so I like to mix and match my glassware and mugs. I have these really pretty and fun Tokyo Design Studio mugs, and I’d really like these aqua tumblers. The patterned one is actually acrylic – so perfect to use outside in the summer.

Until recently the placemats we had were super old – they had lasted us forever, but they’d started to look a little worn. Amara sent me these gorgeous Orla Kiely Flower Spot Placemats and the matching coasters, and they have made our table so much prettier and more colourful. The Placemats are £45, but based on how long they should last you and how high quality they are, I think they are definitely worth the money. I love them.

If you are looking for some beautiful luxury homeware then you should definitely check out Amara.com, and let me know what you get if you do get anything!

I was sent the Orla Kiely Placemats and Tokyo Design Studio mugs from Amara, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
