The Week That Was

4th December 2015

the week that was

Aaah, it’s been a busy old week, and quite different to usual for me. Last Friday I hotfooted it to Manchester for the night for the Cooperative blogger Christmas party, and then on Wednesday I went to London for the afternoon and evening for a John Lewis blogger event! None of which is the norm for me; I never go away anywhere on my own and before this week I could count on one hand the amount of trains I’ve got in the last ten years!

I’m absolutely exhausted now, and so behind with everything (= overwhelmed), but it’s all been so much fun, and I’m really happy I got the opportunity to do it all. I’ve lost so much confidence since becoming a mum, so it’s good to push myself to do things on my own sometimes.

Ava went on her first school trip on Tuesday – they went to a local farm. It’s a really big one with loads of different stuff to do, but she wouldn’t tell me much about it. She saw Llamas and Goats, fed the Llamas, and she told me very animatedly that one of the Llamas spat at her teacher! She thought it was very funny. She also saw Santa and got a present, so she was happy. We were almost late in the morning because just as we were leaving our huge Christmas tree turned up to our house so we couldn’t leave until that was brought inside. It’s absolutely huge and gorgeous, and smells amazing. I love walking in the front door and smelling it. We haven’t actually got the Christmas decorations down from the attic yet, so the tree is still bare, but that’s mine and Ava’s job for this weekend! I think I might actually have to buy some more decorations this year though as the tree is so big and beautiful!

Ava also helped me to destroy the penguin in a santa hat in the picture above, that I was given at Cadbury World last week. I bit the top off then held it out to her, and she bit into it and literally would not let go! She somehow managed to keep it in her teeth whilst stealing as much as she could in one mouthful! She is bloody chocolate-obsessed that girl!

Our weekend will mostly consist of putting up the decorations, housework, playing and sorting some house stuff out; mostly boring and a bit lazy. I also have to apply for school for Ava. I can’t believe we are at that point already! I reckon the weekend will also involve some warm mince pies and plenty of wine!

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

  1. Sounds like you’ve had a fun but very busy week. I don’t often have to go away from home, but it always seems like the meetings and get-togethers come at once! Have fun decorating the tree this weekend.:-)

  5. It sounds like you had a fun and busy week! It made me laugh about Ava eating the penguin as that is something my boys would do too.

  6. Love that chocolate penguin. And my daughter also went on a school trip last week to a farm, and one of the llama’s there spat at one of the helpers.
