Trunki – The Perfect New Baby Gift

16th June 2016

I’ve always been so excited to buy kid’s things and I love buying things for my daughter; so when I decided to buy Ava a Trunki when she was still pretty tiny I thought that we maybe didn’t really need it yet, but I really wanted one! If you haven’t come across them yet (you probably have if you have kids!), a Trunki is a ride-on suitcase for little one’s.

Trunki review

In actual fact our Trunki was really useful right from the beginning. It’s the perfect size for an overnight’s stay at her Grandma’s, with a change of clothes, her monitor, and when she was younger, nappies and wipes, and a few books and toys. We have also taken it away with us for longer trips and abroad – we took it on the plane with lots of fun things in to keep Ava entertained, and it also distracted her for a bit in the airport, sitting on it and playing with it.

So I was really excited to be able to give my close friend (and cousin!) and her new baby their very own Trunki. I love being able to recommend baby and child products to friends that I really loved and found invaluable – being a parent is tough, so if something can help a little bit I really want to share it with them.

I gave them the very cool Boris the Bus Trunki and they absolutely loved it (well, the baby preferred the packaging – but I’m sure he’ll love it when he’s older ;). I think it makes the perfect new baby gift – despite them not being able to use it themselves yet. It is a really practical present that they will use for years, but is also very fun – and it would also be really lovely if you filled it with other little gifts or useful baby things like wipes and nappies if you wanted to spend a bit more. It would be perfect to buy together with some friends and fill with goodies for gifting at a baby shower.

I love that my friend will have her Trunki for years – they last amazingly well – ours is perfect despite going all over the world, and her little one will hopefully get lots of enjoyment out of it too.

All Trunki’s have carry handles and a tow strap so little travellers can pull it along themselves, or they can sit on the comfy saddle when they are big enough, and you can pull them along. They also have secure lockable catches, a teddy bear seatbelt, an inside pocket and an 18 litre storage capacity – we always manage to fit loads in ours. Boris the Bus also comes with a free animal sticker pack so kids can add them to their Trunki to personalise it.

Trunki’s  start at £34.99 and Boris the Bus is £44.99 – you can even design your own for a few pounds more, which is pretty cool! I think they’re a really good price for something that will come in so useful and will last you years (and they come with a 5 year guarantee as well as being made with really durable plastic to make sure of that).

I love our Trunki, and I think they would make a lovely gift for new parents that they would get so much use out of.

I was sent Boris the Bus Trunki to give to my friend and her baby, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

We were given Trunkis as presents and I agree they are one of the best presents received, so useful. They fit in as hand luggage in airplane luggage allowances too, so are perfect for flights to either whizz around the airport or use as a seat. We’ve had ours 6 years now and I’ll be sad when our ladybird and tiger no longer accompany us on our holidays.
