32 Things I’ve Learnt in 32 Years

22nd August 2016

I am now the grand old age of 32. So obviously in those many, many years I have been here on planet earth I have accumulated a lot of knowledge – some of it useful, most of it not. So I thought I would share some of that incredible wisdom with you here today. You’re welcome.

things I've learnt

32 things I’ve learnt in 32 years

  1. People can be dicks.  You don’t know what anyone’s going through in life so give them the benefit of the doubt – but some people are just dicks – forget about them and move on.
  2. Drinking lots of water really does make a difference.
  3. What other people think of you is none of your business.
  4. You can never have too much cheese.
  5. There’s no point in worrying but we’ll still do it anyway.
  6. Love is the best thing in the world. After cheese.
  7. Exercising will make you feel better and give you more confidence, and it is possible to start to enjoy it.
  8. Friends and family are the most important thing in the world. Hold on tight to those you love and never let them go.
  9. The right eyelash curlers and mascara make a world of difference.
  10. It’s bloody hard to forgive yourself for something.
  11. Travelling will be harder than you imagine but completely worth it.
  12. Everyone bitches about other people sometimes. Even the people who claim they would never do such a thing.
  13. Sometimes you need to take the medication.
  14. Not everyone has to like you. I still struggle with this sometimes, but I know some (stupid) people won’t like me, and that’s ok.
  15. People who use your and you’re wrong will always annoy me. You’re equals you are.
  16. Jealousy is ugly, so I will probably always be ugly.
  17. Our noses never stop growing (I know – terrifying).
  18. Feeding bread to ducks is actually harmful to them.
  19. It’s ok to be an emotional person, however bad anyone else makes you feel about it.
  20. It’s never too late.
  21. Getting enough sleep changes everything.
  22. The numbers on the dial of a toaster are minutes.
  23. Figs + Goats cheese + Prosciutto is amazing.
  24. Getting older is a good thing. Some people don’t get the privilege.
  25. Some people will never be happy. You can’t change that.
  26. Getting a cordless vacuum cleaner will change your life.
  27. A collective of Pandas is called an Embarrassment, and a group of Flamingos is called a Flamboyance.
  28. Sometimes my blog posts are shit.
  29. In Florida it is illegal to sing in a public place in your swimming costume.
  30. Women are actually pregnant for ten months, not nine.
  31. Cockroaches can move bloody fast, and they are bloody hard to kill.
  32. Life is short.

Don’t you feel much cleverer now??

Love this list! So with you on 15 and never knew 22 – that’s changed my life, well my mornings anyway!

We learnt all the same things in the same 32 years. I often part my wisdom on those that need it. The toaster number is a fav of mine. And no 3… yep! x
