5 Things I Love About… Blogging

26th January 2018

I love blogging. It is such a huge part of my life and so much of my every day. My life has changed through blogging – I’ve made friendships that will last forever, I’ve had experiences I never would have had otherwise, and I get to do what I love from home and pick my daughter up from school every day.

It’s something that you do have to work hard at if you want to make something of it (despite what a lot of people think), but I’m so grateful that this is what I get to do for now.

There’s so much I love about this weird and wonderful world of blogging, so I thought I would share my favourite things with you.

The people – I have met so many wonderful people through blogging over the last two or three years, some of which are now my best friends who I talk to every day. They are brilliant and supportive about blogging as well as everything else in life. It makes the world of difference having those people there to discuss work things with and help you out with pricing or anything like that, as well as chat about any random shit (and food. We talk a lot about food).

Earning money from home – being able to work flexibly at home and be available to take A to school and pick her up every day is so, so good and makes me very happy. Ok, I hate doing the school runs, but I want to be able to do it myself most of the time, and I love that blogging allows me to do that.

Also, I am a proper home bird most of the time, and I adore that I can sit in my own home, wearing all the baggy, comfortable clothes, drinking tea whenever I want and make money doing something I enjoy.

There is also so much potential for how much I could earn, if I work hard and be consistent and that’s pretty exciting too.

The creative aspect – Ok, I always think of myself as the least creative person that ever lived, but writing is pretty creative isn’t it? I love that I can write about whatever I want, and try to make my words mean something and sound nice. I love thinking of a post I am really inspired to write and then getting on with it and creating a new post.

The way it inspires me – I love that blogging inspires me in my everyday life – to take more photos or to try new things, that I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. I love taking photos, and feel so happy when I get a good one, and then taking the time to edit it. I love (but wish I had more time for) setting up the perfect product shot and moving things about until it looks good. That’s something I’d really like to practice more and get better at.

Meeting celebrities – It’s not the biggest part of blogging, or the most important or deep and meaningful! But I’ve met a lot of celebrities over the last couple of years, which is always fun! Meeting the lovely Jessica Ennis-Hill was very exciting, and I loved working with Vitality on the first VitalityMove event with Jess.

If you’re a blogger what are your favourite things about blogging?

I love being creative and not many jobs require you to wear so many different hats as blogging does. And the people aren’t half bad either…HAHAHAHA!!

    You are quite inspiring!
I have just started blogging, because I just wanted an outlet for all the crazy family stuff that I want to share and I have lots of experience around education too…
I didn’t think that you could actually make a living from it, you say you’re not creative but you really are! This is quite an art!
Did you get help to get started? It all looks so professional…eek!
Gonna keep reading, love it ❤️
