Bathroom Chemistry: A Collection of Luxury Bath Products // The Bath Bubbles and Oils

4th July 2016

As I mentioned in my previous post, I am currently working with Heritage Bathrooms on their Bathroom Chemistry campaign, to find the perfect ingredients for a luxury bathing experience – those products that are essential for ultimate relaxation and comfort. I am representing the Lifestyle and Parenting category, and over the past month or so I have been thoroughly testing 19 luxury bath and skincare products.

I have tested bubble baths and oils, hair masks, face masks, hand and body lotions and candles to find my favourites, and those products I can’t live without.

As a mother I think it’s very important to take some time out occasionally – to have some time to myself and to relax and unwind, and attempt to forget about the housework and my endless to-do lists for a little while. And some of these lovely products are perfect for helping me do that…

The Reviews

The products have been split up into five categories:

I am going to be sharing my reviews over the next few weeks, starting today with…

The Bath Bubbles and Oils

MOA Fortifying Green Bath Potion

heritage luxury bath products

The Magic Organic Apothecary Green Bath Potion is a lovely herbal bath oil. It contains an invigorating blend of peppermint, fennel, fir needle, and sweet birch to help de-stress the mind and relieve aches and pains. You only need a couple of capfuls in your bath, so the 100ml bottle should last a long time, and as it is so potent, that is all you need. I love the packaging – a green glass bottle means that it looks lovely on the side of the bath, and it makes it feel like a high quality bath oil. The magical, apothecary style bottle stays true to the brand, without stopping it from looking like a luxury product.

The green bath potion is made in the UK and contains no chemical ingredients, preservatives or artificial colour or fragrance, and no SLS. Whilst I don’t specifically looks for products not containing those things, it is something I prefer if possible, so I love that and that it is made in the UK. With the oil having a strong peppermint scent I think it is great to use when you have a stuffy nose to help clear it a bit.

At £27.50 it is certainly a luxury bath oil, but it is a really enjoyable product to use in the bath and as you only need to use a small amount I think the price can be justified. I really like having this in my bathroom when I need a product to liven me up a bit (ie always), and I look forward to the scent filling my bathroom every time I use it.

Sanctuary Spa Luxury Bath Float

I love a good bubble bath and this Sanctuary Bath Float is a lovely one, that creates loads of creamy bubbles. I really love the smell of this – apparently it’s an Oriental fragrance, but I wouldn’t describe it as that. To me the smell just says ‘Sanctuary’, as I have used other products from this range before, and I really like them.

It’s a nice big chunky bottle and nice looking – but it’s certainly not as pretty as a glass bottle. It’s only £10 though, and I got loads of bubbles from a very small amount of product so it should last a long while. My skin does feel nice and soft after using it – it contains baobab, vitamin E and freesia flowers. I love a bath oil, but sometime I just really want a tub full of bubbles; I find that so relaxing.

Neal’s Yard Aromatic Foaming Bath

This is an aromatherapy blend of lavender, marjoram and geranium essential oils to help you relax and unwind. I have loved Neal’s Yard products for a few years now, and use their Argan oil on my face regularly. I really trust them as a brand and like their ethos, and their dark blue glass packaging always looks classy and beautiful. At £15.50 I think it is a great price for such a lovely, luxury product, and it’s the kind of thing I would ask for, for my birthday or Christmas.

You don’t need a lot to create some lovely bubbles, although I do feel that they aren’t quite as ‘big and bouncy’ as some other bubble baths. That could be because Neal’s Yard products have less rubbish in them, and if so I’m completely happy with that.

Ren Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil

heritage luxury bath products

I’d wanted to try this Ren bath oil for a long time after hearing lots about it. I love the glass packaging – it really looks so luxurious and pretty sitting by my bath. I also love that it has a 100% natural fragrance, and is classed as ‘clean skincare’; containing no parabens, sulphates, mineral oil or synthetics.

It feels very luxurious to use and it feels lovely in my bath, and my skin felt lovely and soft afterwards.

I love a good bath with loads of bubbles or a lovely oil – oils particularly feel like such a treat and really help me to relax for a bit. I have a lot of baths, so I’m loving this little collection of luxury products I have to use now!

Heritage Bathrooms sent me all of these products as part of the ‘Bathroom Chemistry’ campaign, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
