Books, Beach Life, and Sevilla #LittleLoves

Bom Dia!

Have you had a good week?

Whilst I have been away in Spain and Portugal I have found it really hard to keep up with #LittleLoves. Every so often I’ll think ‘It must be Friday soon’ and then check and find out it is already Friday, or even Saturday or Sunday. I really haven’t had a clue what day it has been, which is nice.

We are still away at the moment, and have just over another week of our month long trip left. We have gone from Spain to Portugal and we are now in Spain again, Madrid to be precise as this post goes live. We have four nights here and then there is only Santander left to go, which is a bit sad. Then it’s the dreaded ferry back home, which I am trying to put off thinking about for now.

Here are my #LittleLoves this week….

Read

I have actually read and finished a couple of books for once! I finished reading ‘The Sudden Departure of the Frasers’ which I couldn’t put down. I did feel like it slowed down quite a bit in the middle and didn’t need to be as long as it was, and I didn’t really like the ending that much and I guessed it a while before the end. But I still wanted to ignore my family and just keep reading. It’s a bit of a thriller told from two characters perspectives; Amber and Christy, and is about a very popular couple on a swanky street who disappear from their house overnight without anyone knowing where they have gone.

It is by Louise Candlish, and I will definitely be checking out some more of her books.

Watched

I haven’t watched any telly whilst we have been away as most of it is in Spanish and I haven’t really wanted to to be honest.

I have watched Ava playing with her Daddy on the beach, which is lovely. They spent lots of time digging holes (‘boats’) and jumping in the waves. We have mostly been staying in cities, but we had a few days in the Algarve, staying where we did two years ago when my sister got married, and it was lovely to just spend time relaxing by the pool and on the beach (as much as A will let us relax anyway!).

I have also watched her eating A LOT of ice creams and getting them all over her face!

Wore

Lots of floaty summer dresses, denim shorts and vest tops. I keep reading about you all in the UK and how cold it is and seeing what you are wearing, and I am dreading it. Instead of the usual slowish migration from shorts to thin trousers to hundreds of layers we will be going from tiny outfits to jumpers and jeans straight away by the looks of it!

I have worn:

My dungarees again…

This lovely, clingy off the shoulder dress from Topshop, one evening…

Outfit in Portugal

This easy summer dress from New Look. It’s the kind of dress I love on holiday; easy to throw on, thin straps and loose for when it’s hot and it doesn’t even really need ironing. I just kind of wish it didn’t have the lace at the bottom as it’s just not really my style, and it’s probably not the most flattering thing and it may make me look a bit pregant sometimes, but I stop caring when I’m boiling hot.

Mummy and Daughter in Seville

Heard

Ava whinging A LOT. We really thought she would adapt better to travelling than she has, which is a shame. She’s been very tired, doesn’t want to walk anywhere, and has been very fussy (read: difficult) with food. It’s been a lot harder than we thought it would be, still worth it, but difficult, and pretty draining at times.

Also heard the waves crashing as I lay on the sand 🙂 and lots of Spanish and Portuguese words that are spoken far too quickly for me to even attempt to understand.

Made

….sure I wrote this post before Friday??! I think that’s the best I can do this week I am afraid!

And lastly…

As I write this I am in Seville in our apartment. We only had three nights here and today it rained first thing and then has been grey and cloudy all day, which is the only time we have had weather like that whilst away. It wouldn’t be so bad but we have a really lovely huge terrace so we can sit and eat our meals out there, or sunbathe, and Ava can play in the fresh air, so it’s a shame on our last day in Seville the weather is rubbish.

Hope you have had a great week, and the weather isn’t too chilly in England!

  1. As I’m reading this beautiful sun filled post I’m sat in a very grey and rainy England while trying very hard not to be jealous, haha!! It looks like you are all having the best time, loving your summer dresses. xxx

The new look dress is flattering and definitely doesn’t make you look pregnant! Looks lovely. Hope the weather improves for your last days xx

  4. Oh that sunshine looks lovely, it’s grey and cold here at the minute. I love your denim short dungarees, I looked for a pair all summer but didn’t manage to find a pair that were flattering so had to give up! x

I am so jealous of you having a whole month away. Our holiday seems like it was a lifetime ago now. You look lovely, love the dungarees! I hope you’re making the most of your last week xx #LittleLoves
