Cordless Dyson’s and Cornflake Cakes #LittleLoves

It’s Friiiiiiday!

little loves linky

This week has been a bit all over the place with it being half term, and I can’t even really remember what we’ve done. I’ve had quite a bit of work to do, but I think Ava has still had plenty of fun. I would have liked to have done more stuff with her, but there just hasn’t been time – the summer holidays aren’t exactly far away now anyway, are they?!

Today is actually the anniversary of when my wonderful Granny passed away. I absolutely cannot believe that it has been eighteen years. I feel like she was there for a lot of my life, so to think that she has not been with us for longer than she was during my lifetime is just insane. She was so amazing and we were so close, and I still miss her like crazy.

Welcome to this weeks Little Loves!

Read

Maria’s post on Zara’s blog – ‘You know you’re officially old when…‘ – This really made me laugh – it’s so me! Particularly saying things like “because I said so” and forgetting how old I am, and a Cordless Dyson WAS one of the best gifts I’ve ever received (#lifechanger). I think I’m at that point in life where I think I’m way cooler than I actually am, and can get away with using hashtags willy nilly, and saying things like ‘obvs’. But then when you use willy nilly and obvs in the same sentence then you are clearly not cool.

Watched

Loads of Revenge. It’s the first season that I actually haven’t enjoyed as much, but I still really like it. I love the characters.

I also caught a bit of the new Top Gear, and it did make for uncomfortable viewing at times, but things like that are always a bit awkward at first aren’t they? I would never have expected them to get Matt le Blanc to do it, so I’m interested to see more of him.

Wore

Warmer clothes again! I know it’s all us boring Brits are talking about at the moment, but COME ON! It’s June now for goodness sake. It seems pretty crazy that we’ve actually had to start wearing more clothes again, when we should be wearing less, and we’ve had to put the heating on a few times! Lame. I was really looking forward to that heatwave we were supposed to be having, but I’m pretty sure it was supposed to be here by now.

I wore this dress (which you can see properly here), which I love. It’s one of those easy, throw-on, a-bit-loose-so-covers-you-up-nicely dresses. It got even better after I washed it and then discovered it doesn’t need ironing! It’s amazing-ness increased tenfold after that discovery. I hate ironing.

I know you can only see a tiny bit of the dress here; I just wanted to draw you in with babies.

I also wore this lovely white top with my Topshop Jamie jeans – I got it last year but didn’t end up wearing it, but I put it on the other day when I didn’t have anything else that was ironed and I felt really nice in it. It’s just one of those tops that makes jeans feel more summery and pretty. One day I will bless you with decent outfit photos.

Heard

I have barely heard anything this week – I usually listen to the radio or songs on my iPhone on the way back from taking Ava to nursery, which I’m obviously not doing this week.

I have heard the bloody theme tune to ‘Shimmer and Shine’ quite a lot – which is apparently A’s new favourite, and it won’t get the hell out of my head, especially when I’m trying to sleep at night.

Made

Ava made some yummy Cornflake cakes this week…

And lastly…

We have a busy weekend planned, when really I could do with a lazy one. Tomorrow I’m going to my friends house for a little party for her birthday (yay for day drinking), so that should be great, but then I have bloody Race for Life on Sunday, which I am dreading. I haven’t gone for a single run, nor have I been able to make myself do any exercise at all, so I’m kind of terrified. It is one of those ‘races’ where you don’t have to run at all, and it’s fine to walk, but I really feel like I should try when people are sponsoring me. Wish me luck!

J’espère que vous avez un merveilleux week-end!

  1. I LOVE that top, totally agree it’s lovely and summer – just need the sun back haha. Good luck with the race! xx

  2. Ha ha I completely understand the whole thinking you’re way cooler than you actually are, although I have a 14 year old to put me in my place, lucky me! Love that white top, the collar is so pretty! I remember just mixing chocolate and cornflakes and eating them with a spoon infront of the tv with one of my friends when we had boyfriend trouble when we were younger – no wonder I’m constantly on a diet now! Have a great weekend x

I’ve not made cornflake cakes for ages! They are great fun to make with the kids aren’t they? I’m the same with outfit photos! Every week I get cross at myself for not doing any.. not that my outfits are usually worth sharing, I’m not sure people would be interested in yet another photo of me with a topknot, tshirt and jeans, haha! Hope Race for Life went well xx
