The First Poundworld Plus Opens in Nottingham

1st October 2016

Last Thursday one of the Poundworld’s in Nottingham opened it’s doors as a brand new Poundworld Plus – a new concept of the popular store that sells items for a range of low prices – not just a pound.

It means they can have a much wider range of items and brands still at great prices. At Poundworld Plus, they have a number of straight-forward price points throughout the store, as well as plenty of multibuy offers for the lower priced items.

On Thursday 22nd September the very first Poundworld Plus launched at Trinity Square in Nottingham. I got to visit the brand new and refurbished store on Friday to have a look at the wide selection of products they now stock, and also do a nice big shop myself, which was rather fun!

The store is laid out really well, with clear pricing and a brilliant range of products. They have added some more tills to the Nottingham store to avoid big queues, and despite it being quite busy when I was there, I didn’t see any queues at all. They have also put new flooring in the store which looks great.

The store is big enough that there are plenty of both the £1 items as well as lots of £2 and £3 items – being a Plus just means that you can get a lot more of your household and beauty products in one place.

I picked up so much stuff for £50 and honestly I could have got a lot more – and these are things that I will actually use, and would normally buy.

They have a great range of products for kids, including well-known animated characters from films such Frozen and The Good Dinosaur, as well as a huge range of seasonal products – so they have lots of Halloween and Christmas products in right now. I picked a load of bits for Ava for Christmas – perfect for her stocking – that she will love, and on which I would usually end up spending a lot more. I also got a few lovely plastic Disney gift bags to put Christmas presents in for less than a pound as well as plenty of children’s wrapping paper. I’m feeling very organised about Christmas this year!

I also bought rather a lot of chocolate – the range of sweets and chocolate is huge (as it should be!) and I got some small chocolate bars for school, as well as bits for Christmas, and some random bits for me!

I haven’t really shopped very much in Poundworld much in the past, to be honest, but now that I can get such a lot of products that I usually buy, and at a lower price, I’ll definitely be going back. I saved a lot of money and some things were much cheaper than I normally pay for them.
