Jeepers Creepers, Alice and Wine #LittleLoves

3rd March 2017

Happy Friday! This week has been a bit up-and-down. It started off really nicely spending time with my New Zealand family for the last day they were here, but then on Tuesday morning we had to say goodbye to them and there were a lot of tears from all of us! We had such a fun and busy few weeks together, and the two girls bonded so closely and it’s been really hard trying to get back to normal this week. It was so lovely that they got to spend so much time together, especially as we had half term whilst they were here. But now we have had to go back to reality with a bang, with school runs, and grumpy girls (both of us!) and back to actually doing some blog work.

Welcome to this weeks Little Loves!

Read

I don’t think I’ve read anything over the last week, nor have I done much work as I have been busy socialising and drinking wine, and playing in the park with the kiddos lots! It’s been lovely not working and not feeling guilty about it for once. It was so nice to get a break from work as I haven’t had one for years really unless I’ve actually been on a holiday. It’s worked out well that I haven’t had much work on in February.

Watched

I have barely watched any TV this week as I’ve just been out so much. I did watch the amazingly awful film Jeepers Creepers with my step-brother and sister and we laughed a lot a the ridiculous faces that the guy pulls constantly. It seems like it’s a film from the 80’s rather than 2001!

I did go to the cinema to see ‘Lion’ with Craig, which was lovely. You can read about what we thought of it and all about the lovely Showcase Cinema de Lux here.

Wore

I have mostly worn big coats, scarves and gloves as we’ve been outside a lot and it has been freeeezing (apart from those two lovely mild days we had). I don’t have any outfit pictures though I’m afraid as I’ve been too busy having fun! I’m so glad spring is finally here now though and it will hopefully start to get a bit nicer and milder from now on.

The girls both dressed up in their Alice in Wonderland costumes that we got them – Ava’s is for World Book Day (but they’re dressing up today at her school), and C wanted the same one! They’re so cute. We had literally just bought them and then gone to the pub hence why they are creased to buggery.

Heard

This ‘Shape of You’ cover by Walk off the Earth – it’s bloody brilliant. I’ve heard a few of their songs before and they are bloody talented sods.

And I still can’t stop singing ‘Say You Won’t Let Go‘ by James Arthur – I love it so much.

I also heard the girls giggling lots together which was lovely and made my heart very happy.

Made

I have made very, very little – even less than I normally would! I haven’t even really cooked anything at all as we’ve been out so much and therefore eaten out lots and it’s been lovely if rather expensive. I have now got to get back to eating healthily again, exercising, and drinking lots of water again, which for once I’ve been very bad at. All my good habits have gone out the window recently and I’m feeling a bit crappy.

And lastly

Little Loves

The girls with their Grandad on his 60th birthday!

I’m just trying to focus on getting back to some kind of normality now that my family have gone back to New Zealand, and trying not to think about when they might next come back because it could be long time away. But I have some exciting things coming up in the next few months and so I’m trying to make myself snap out of it and cheer my old ass up!

Hope you’ve had an ace week xx

  1. It sounds like you had the most wonderful time with your family from New Zealand, and I bet it is quite an adjustment with them now gone – it is great to look back on the memories created though.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

What a lovely weekend with your NZ family! I always find the best days are those with few photos as you are just too busy having fun and being in the moment. xx

Drinking and chilling sound like perfection to me, no wonder you don’t want to go back to normality! 😂 Xxx

  7. Hope this week is going ok, it’s difficult when family visit and then leave, you can’t help but imagine the life it could be if they lived closer. Take care x
