Make Your Wedding Stand Out from the Pack

A lot of weddings look pretty the same these days, right? When people get the wedding photos out to show people who weren’t there, there are rarely any surprises. People generally know what to expect. Sure, we can appreciate that it was probably the happiest day of their lives, and it is always nice to see that… but the venues, the stories, the dress codes, the vows… with all this considered, weddings have a tendency to blur into each other.

At the end of the day, your wedding should be precisely what you want it to be. You probably shouldn’t concern yourself too much with how exciting other people are going to find it. Then again, you do have to give some thought to your guests, right? Why not invite them and show them not just a good time, but a really unique one. Something that will stick out in their memories above all the other weddings they may have to attend in their lifetime.

So we’re going to look at a few offbeat and exciting suggestions that you can consider for your own wedding!

Rent a house

Sure, you could get married in a church and then host your reception in some rented hall or hotel. But what if you could have an entire manor to yourself, where you can get married out in the country and even house the guests afterwards? You can hire help, or even make the entire thing completely private, with just you and your friends (and whoever is overseeing the actual marriage!). You could actually make a pretty lengthy getaway out of it. Companies like Landed Houses offer large houses to rent for a weekend that can be used for events such as weddings. This certainly makes the problem of accommodation so much easier for the people who have to travel some distance to get to your wedding!

Amazing guest transportation

If the ceremony and the reception will be in two different locations, then you need to consider how you’re going to get your guests from the former to the latter! Sure, you could look into getting some cabs. But wouldn’t hiring some limos really add some spice to the proceedings? Although, in fairness, limos as wedding transportation is hardly a completely new idea – they’re great, but what if you want  something really out there? Something your guests are really unlikely to have seen at any wedding they’ve been to before? If your guests aren’t afraid of heights, you could consider hiring a hot air balloon to transport your guests! You’ll have to have a pilot there, of course!

Exciting music

When couples get a band for the wedding, they tend to go for string quartets – that, or they won’t hire a band, just have the venue play whatever CD of classical music they happen to have. You should definitely buck this trend. You could consider getting a flamenco guitar player, or an obscure local jazz act, or a mariachi band if you really want an exciting and exotic vibe! Of course, if you have friends who are in a local band, then you could consider asking them to play… as long as they’re, y’know, good!
