Making Customer Service Easy, With Three

Sometimes I try to imagine what life would be like without my phone, and I can’t really. It is pretty much permanently attached to me, and I use it for everything, except perhaps having an actual voice call very often.

I use it to check my bank balance and transfer money, to take photos, to do blogging bits, have conversations and so much more.

Like a lot of people now, I no longer have a home phone, and so I rely on my mobile phone so much. If my phone contract is ending or if I have a problem with it then I need to get it sorted out quickly, and luckily I am with Three and have been for years now.

Three have a few new ways for you to get in touch with them without having to go into store or call their customer service line. These are the Three App, Three Live and Three Store Now. You can use these new services when you have a question to ask or want to know more about a new phone.

The Three app – available on iOS and Android – has recently improved so much and as such, I use it so much more now. I’ll admit I did find it a bit finicky before so didn’t really use it unless I had to; I just didn’t find it clear to find what I was looking for and it certainly wasn’t as nice to use as it is now. Now it is so brilliantly set out and everything you need to know is really clear. I can straight away see how much of my allowance I have left for the month and easily get more if I am ever running low.

I can see when my next bill will be ready, view previous bills and view them as a pdf if I need to. I can also see that I have international roaming enabled which I am never sure about, so that’s really useful too (well it would be if I was going abroad anytime soon; woe is me). It’s so handy to have all of the information right there in the app, especially if say my bill is higher than usual and I can easily find out why.

A feature that I think is so clever is ‘Check a call cost’. You can put in a phone number and it will tell you how much it is likely to cost you. It’s brilliant for those numbers you don’t usually call to see if it is going to cost you a fortune before you ring! I recently had to ring an 0345 number and I wasn’t sure whether I would be charged or not – the app told me that I wouldn’t which I think is so useful. It then also informed me that another number would cost me 55p a minute, and so I found a different number to ring instead.

You can do more stuff that is easily accessible from the app, such as edit your details, activate a new SIM, receive support and use the live chat.

We all have busy lives, and it’s so nice to be able to get in touch with your mobile provider without having to go into a store or call them. Plus I know I’m not the only one that really hates making phone calls! I put them off for as long as I possibly can which obviously just delays the inevitable.

Three Live can be found on the Three website. These are 30-minute sessions in which their expert presenters will demo one or two of the latest phones and tablets live. They showcase all the features and functions and you can ask for stuff you’d particularly like to see. I think that’s such a great way to check out a new phone that you’re interested in and ask any questions you have, without having to wait to see someone in store. I think it would be especially useful if you’ve been into a store and are liking a particular phone but afterwards, you have some more questions about it and don’t want to have to traipse back into town again. I hate going into town and I go as little as possible nowadays (I order everything online!) so this would be really useful for me.

I think Three Live is a really good idea for people who want to find out a bit more about a particular phone or the offers they have on. The Three Store Now option on the Three website is also a great option and I would definitely choose to use that before making a phone call. If you’re buying online and want some advice, you just press ‘Live Chat with us now’ on any product page and select ‘find the right deal for me’, and you’ll be put in touch with a real sales assistant in-store who will be able to take you through your questions.

I really like the new services from Three and I’m certainly using the app much more now that it is laid out so clearly and a lot easier to use than before. I’ve been with Three for quite a few years now, and it’s great to have these new features if I’m ready to upgrade or need some help.
