For the past few months my little girl has been going to ballet classes. She goes once a week and she loves it! She looks so cute in her little pink outfit and she always runs in to the class all excited.
We are not allowed to watch the classes as we are too much of a distraction for the children which often feels like a shame but I completely understand. I stayed and watched Ava the first week to see if she liked it and she was like “look mummy a lion!”, pointing at things on the walls and I can imagine it would be quite chaotic if all of us parents were there watching.
At the very last class of each term we are allowed to go and watch, which is lovely and it’s nice to see how excited and proud the kids are having us there. Last term her Daddy, Grandma and I went to watch and it was so sweet and funny and a nice opportunity to take some photos of our beautiful little ballerinas.
A few weeks ago she also started doing tap dancing right before the ballet class. It’s only for fifteen minutes at the moment as it takes quite a lot of effort for their little legs I think and so she does fifty minutes in total.
She loves the other girls at the class; one of whom we knew from the Toddler Signing group we go to, so she’s always excited to see them and spend time with them, which is really nice.
I am so glad she is enjoying it as I have always loved dancing and I went to tots ballet and tap when I was really little and wish I had carried it on. It makes me a bit emotional if I think about it too much as I adore dancing so much that I wish I done it properly when I was younger so that I could have carried it on and maybe something could have come of it. However, I would never push Ava to do it if she didn’t want to and if she wasn’t enjoying it anymore then I certainly wouldn’t make her go.
It is not long until the end of term and I can’t wait to watch my little ballerina dancing again.
Do your little ones do any dancing or go to any other types of classes?

Thanks Merlinda, I think so too π x
What adorable photos! I remember doing one session of ballet as a kid and I was rubbish at it so didn’t go back although I kind of wished my mum had insisted that I stick with something as I grew up not having any proper hobbies. #pocolo x
Thank you. I think I was the same, but I wish I’d carried on x
Aw beautiful! I used to go disco dancing as a kid and I absolutely loved it! Can’t wait for my little boy to start joining in with activities xxx
Ah I bet that was brilliant! It’s lovely when they can start doing things like this isn’t it π x
She’s so cute! She really looks as if she’s enjoying it,. I never did ballet but did irish dance for 7 years, it’s fantastic for keeping fit and for making friends!
That sounds brilliant Lisa! I think she really does enjoy it which is great; I think a big part of it is because she loves being with her friends π x
Her class sounds fab, she looks lovely in her little outfit!. My little one is only 2 but already she loves dancing. Growing up i competed as an irish dancer and i’d love for her to maybe try out a few classes when she’s older.
I think doing Irish dancing would be so much fun! Thanks Vicki x

She looks so cute, i love all the little ballet stuff! my eldest attempted ballet but it really wasn’t for her i think she’s more of a street dance kinda girl #mummymonday
Ah, I think I am the same way! I have done street dancing a couple of times before and really loved it, and I have been trying to find a class near me for ages. Thanks Linda x
WE’VE JUST SWAPPED BALLET FOR IRISH DANCING WHICH IS ALSO A LOT OF FUN TO DO.

(Not Sure why this is all in capitals, I don’t mean to shout!!).
Weird ,your comments puts everything in capitals even though I’ve not got capslock on. Strange.
I have a boy so I’m sad that he’ll unlikely ever do dancing. I did ballet until I had to give up for 6th form due to being at school on Saturdays, but since leaving uni I’ve done salsa, Ceroc and West Coast Swing. I’ve not been dancing since I was pregnant and really miss it for the fitness and the social side. Would love N to like dancing and not be embarrassed by it when he’s older, but I think he’ll turn his nose up – with a husband who’s a farmer, it’s unlikely to be normal for him as a boy to dance.
she looks absolutely adorable in her little ballet outfit!!! π Such a sweetie! Hope she is enjoying her lessons
thanks for joining in on #mummymonday π love, Gemma – host xo

She is so adorable and I love little ones in ballerina outfits I can’t wait to sign MM up for it when she is a tad older. I think she would absolutely love it. Gorgeous post. Thank you so much for linking up to Share With Me. #sharewithme
My little girls once a week ballet has over the last 2 years turned into a ballet/tap/modern/street dance extravaganza. I love this as I was such a keen dancer as a child. It helps with posture, self confidence and discipline but most of all I love that it makes her happy. Your little one is so sweet, make sure you keep those first ballet shoes x
Thanks for sharing such beautiful information with us. I hope u will share some more information about my little ballerina.
