Playing Dress Up For Halloween With Dance Depot

27th October 2015

This year is the first year Ava has been particularly interested in Halloween. We don’t usually do much for it and we have never taken her trick or treating as she has been too young. We wouldn’t have taken her this year either but she must have been learning about it at nursery as she seems really excited by it all and really wants to go trick or treating! So at the weekend we are going to gatecrash Grandma’s much nicer area and knock on a few doors.

Dance Depot Corpse Bride Fancy Dress

It was perfect timing when we were asked if we would like to review a few fancy dress costumes from Dance Depot, who offer a wide range of dancewear and costumes for children and adults. They have been supplying dance schools and professionals since 1988, and at this time of year also stock some fun Halloween costumes for kids.

We were kindly sent three costumes for Ava, along with some face paints; a fairy witch, a corpse bride and Frankenstein. The prices of the costumes are all really good I think; these three are all under £20 and Dance Depot also do some more simple costumes that are even cheaper (like the ghost for £8.50!).

Ava loved all of the costumes and couldn’t wait to put them on. I asked her which her favourite was and she said “Frankenstein, bride and witch”! So, she can’t decide. I think my favourite is the Fairy Witch, just because it’s cute, although the other two look really cool on her too.

The costumes were all slightly big for Ava, which I think is a good thing because it means they should fit her next year. There are all pretty good quality, and well made – Ava was jumping and playing about in hers for a few hours and they were all fine. I like that none of them are too scary, so suitable for little one’s, and Dance Depot also do a wide range of completely non-scary costumes such as Alice in Wonderland (I completely want this for Ava… or me) or a Bumble Bee.

Delivery was quick from Dance Depot and if you’re in a rush before Halloween you can get next day delivery for £6.95. Ava loved playing dress up and has been wearing the witches hat around the house constantly, and she can’t wait to wear one of the outfits again for trick or treating.

We were sent the fancy dress outfits and face paints from Dance Depot, but these thoughts and opinions (and creepyass brides) are my own.

Love these costumes, the bride one is my favourite and the makeup used is just perfect to finish the look.

Oh my God, the little witch is sooo cute! She looks adorable! My Toddler refuses to dress up in anything except her fairy wings so we’ll be going as a fairy this year. X
