Reasons to Stay Alive, The Good Place, and Crap Films #LittleLoves

24th November 2017

Hello hello! Hasn’t it been a very long time since my last Little Loves? I just haven’t really been inspired to write one lately; I’ve had a lot going on, and I haven’t had enough to write about really.

But I’ve really missed joining in with Little Loves, and reading all of the other lovely posts from people who join in, so I’m happy to be back with this week’s little things I’ve been loving! I’m going to include some things from over the last month as well I think.

Welcome to this weeks Little Loves!

Read

Well I say I didn’t have anything interesting to add before, so clearly I have some fascinating things to share with you for this week, obviously.

Nope. I don’t think I’ve read anything at all recently, not even any blog posts. But I do really want to get back into reading and snuggling up with a good book in the evenings; I think it’s good for my soul and helps me switch off a bit which I really need at the moment.

I’ve got ‘The Idea of You‘ by Amanda Prowse on my Kindle which I think I’ll read next, and I also downloaded ‘Reasons to Stay Alive‘ by Matt Haig which is about depression and making the most of our time on earth, so I’m really looking forward to starting that.

Watched

When Craig was over from New Zealand and staying at Kirsty’s, the three of us watched a few really shit films together! Sometimes it’s actually quite fun to watch a crap horror film, whilst drinking wine, and chat about how absolutely awful it is together – don’t you agree? One night it was ‘Cabin in the Woods’ and then ‘Hostel’ which were both horrendous, but it was fun!

I finished The Good Wife a couple of weeks ago which is a bit gutting because I love it, and it was supposedly the last ever season. The last episode completely seemed like it couldn’t be the ending at all though, it was so confusing. There was literally so much left up in the air, so much so that I checked twice that it was definitely the last one!

I then watched the rest of the last season of Suits and then Shooter with Ryan Philippe – so I’ve finished everything that I was watching at the moment, which is rubbish. Last night I started watching The Good Place which is kind of different and slightly strange, but really easy to watch and a bit of fun! I’ve recently discovered that I love Kristen Bell and she’s in it, with Ted Danson. It’s about a woman who arrives at ‘The Good Place’ – a heaven like utopia – after her death, and realises she has been sent there by mistake as she wasn’t a good person when she was alive. I haven’t found it laugh-out-loud funny, but it’s a bit different and the actors are really good. I haven’t heard anyone talk about it yet, but let me know if you’ve seen it.

Oh and I also watched The Sinner, which I really enjoyed. It was quite hard to watch in places, but Jessica Biel was brilliant in it and I was pretty gripped. I do think it’s one of those things that I wish wouldn’t have a second season though, but I’m sure it will because it’s been so popular.

Heard

I’m still really enjoying listening to podcasts whilst I’m getting ready or washing up. I wrote about three of my favourites here, but I’ve mainly been listening to Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast – Happy Mum Happy Baby which I’ve really been enjoying. It’s lovely hearing other mum’s experiences and Giovanna and her guests are all lovely.

I also started listening to the second series of the Serial podcast, which isn’t anywhere near as interesting as the first but I’m still enjoying it, and I bloody love how Sarah Koenig narrates it, I think it’s brilliant.

Wore

Oh god, I’ve been so bloody tired recently and it’s got so cold that I’m mostly wearing comfy leggings and big jumpers. I just can’t be arsed to even put jeans on at the moment, when I’m feeling so rubbish, and I just want to be covered up. Luckily I haven’t had anywhere nice to be recently so it hasn’t mattered!

I did get this Shearling Aviator Jacket from ASOS recently, as I wanted a coat that is thicker and keeps me warm but that is a bit nicer, rather than my big puffy coat. I haven’t worn it yet but I love it.

Made

Sweet FA. I have not had the energy or inclination to make anything recently, except my bed and a few dinners…

And lastly…

I’ve cleared out so much of our house over the last year or so, and did a load more last weekend, including getting rid of some more of my clothes. It always feels so good having a nice clear out and I love it, but man does it ever end?? I feel like no matter how much I go through there’s still a million drawers and piles to sort. I’m in that kind of mood where I just want to get rid of almost everything and have a capsule wardrobe, but that’s never going to happen, it’s just not me. But I’m so sick of clutter and so I’m hoping to get some time this weekend to clear out even more crap and feel lovely and free afterwards! It really helps me feel calmer when there isn’t so much stuff everywhere.

Ooh I also have a little Christmas giveaway of my own running this week, where you can win a £20 Amazon voucher to treat yourself with. Head over here to enter.

I hope you all have a brilliant weekend whatever you’re doing xxx
