The Christmas Gift Guide for the Kitchen and Home

22nd November 2019

I have so many lovely gifts to share with you in this home and kitchenware Christmas gift guide. I always think that these kinds of things make such great presents, especially for those interested in cooking or making their home look lovely. Hopefully, you will find some great inspiration for Christmas gifts here.

Authentic Vietnamese Cooking Set

This Authentic Vietnamese Cooking Set from Sous Chef makes such a brilliant gift. It includes a really beautiful, large and colourful cookbook — The Food of Vietnam — which is full of the Nguyen family’s traditional Vietnamese recipes which they used to counter homesickness having fled the country. The set also comes with some of the key ingredients needed to create authentic Vietnamese flavours, all wrapped up together in a drawstring bag, and these gift sets are perfect to gift to someone who loves to cook and try out new dishes. You can also include a message to the recipient with your gift.

I love Vietnamese food (and Vietnam itself), but Sous Chef also do a fantastic range of other cuisines in sets like this, as well as individual ingredients, cooking tools and so much more. It’s a brilliant place to find the perfect present for a food lover.

Tala Kitchenware Mixing Bowl and Set of Cake tins

This Indigo and Ivory Corn Design 30cm Mixing bowl from Tala is so, so pretty and will be used so much as it is so large with a wide rim, making it so practical for both cooking and baking. It has a Natural Corn flour design around the body of the bowl and a textured design which aids firm grip. It is such brilliant quality stoneware, which won’t chip and should last a lifetime.

Also from Tala’s new Indigo and Ivory range, this Set of 3 Cake Tins would make a brilliant gift for anyone who bakes cakes often (although they’re also great for general storage of other foods as well). They’re really nice looking so will look lovely displayed in a kitchen full of delicious cakes, and all 3 of them are a really good size and have a great depth to them. They’re excellent quality and are made to last, as well as being easy to wipe clean and they nestle snuggly inside of each other.

Maps International Wall Map

I love this classic world map framed print so much. The colours are so beautiful and so lovely and gentle that it will look great on any wall or sat on one of those pretty little picture shelves. You can choose a framed or unframed version, and this quality white frame goes perfectly with it. The frame is made from real ayous wood, and the print is protected with perspex glazing. It shows the political detail, country boundaries and cities, and it is so elegant and pretty.

Maps International do a huge range of world, country and area maps, personalised maps, canvas ones, ones for kids, and even scratch-off maps and wallpaper maps.

Their team includes specialist cartographers, so detail, as well as design, is what they do best, and you can see that in their beautiful products. Their parent company is Lovell Johns who have a history of map-making for over 50 years. It makes such a beautiful gift.

Hundred House Coffee

Hundred House Coffee make delicious, freshly roasted coffee delivered straight to your door. I love giving fresh coffee as a gift to a coffee lover, as it is often such a treat compared to what they drink every day, plus it smells divine. Hundred House offer a subscription service where the recipient receives either 1,2,3,4, or 5 different single-origin coffees each month, along with a Brew Guide and they will even gift wrap the first delivery if it is for a gift, which is a lovely touch.

The company are based in the rural hills of Shropshire and they combine their expertise with passion in order to source, roast and supply unique coffees from small holds around the world. Their roastery is a converted barn, in a yard shared with other rural-living, speciality-driven food producers.

They also sell individual packets of fresh coffee, as well as coffee-related gifts and a special seasonal blend especially for Christmas, that comes in beautiful Nordic-inspired bags. With notes of figgy pudding, gingerbread and chocolate, it’s a winter warmer like no other and makes the perfect stocking filler.

You can read my full review of this indoor security home camera here, but the camera is easy to set up, has loads of features and is small and discreet, and such a bargain too. It makes a great Christmas gift for anyone who wants the peace of mind that having one of these in the home brings.

Curlicue Eco-friendly Wrapping Paper

I have featured this beautiful eco-friendly wrapping paper as a background in lots of my photos for my Christmas gift guides so you might have already seen some of it. It is from a brand called Curlicue and this Christmas range that includes these three prints, as well as matching tags and three coordinating block colour wrapping papers, is so, so gorgeous. I love all three of them and my favourite seems to be whichever I am looking at, at that moment.

Many people don’t realise that the vast majority of gift wrap isn’t recyclable and that most of it ends up in landfill. Curlicue’s eco-friendly wrapping paper is plastic free so it can be recycled with your usual household recycling. It is printed on uncoated, 100% recycled paper with vegetable-based ink, and printed in the UK using waterless and chemical-free processes to maintain a low carbon footprint. All of it is shipped as rolled sheets in a recyclable cardboard box.

I love that eco-friendly gift wrap is becoming more available now, as I absolutely hate throwing away all of our paper every Christmas, and I can’t wait to wrap up my Christmas presents in this beautiful wrapping paper this year.

Where to buy: Curlicue RRP From £1.69 a sheet

I hope these lovely products helped you find the perfect Christmas gift!
