The Shrunks Toddler Bed Review

We have recently been lucky enough to test out this toddler bed from ‘The Shrunks’:

The Shrunks Toddler Bed Review

It is a blow up bed for your little one to use when you go away. It comes with an electric pump and you can also get a foot pump for when you are without electricity, and it is literally fully up within a couple of minutes with the electric pump. It has raised sides so that your toddler doesn’t roll out and it fits standard cot sized sheets, which is really helpful.

We LOVE this bed. We have taken it on two week long holidays, one in this country and one abroad; weekends away; and overnight stays at hotels and family’s houses. It is a lot smaller and lighter than a travel cot, you don’t have a separate mattress to transport, and it fit easily in quite a small suitcase for our holiday abroad. I would say it is less than half the size of a travel cot in their respective cases.

It is so practical, quick, and easy to use and we have found that Ava mostly sleeps much better on this bed than in her own cot and especially the travel cot that we own (that has become completely redundant since we got this!). In fact, she slept through for the first time EVER on this bed (did I ever mention we have a bad sleeper?!) whilst we were in Portugal.

The toddler bed is supposed to be from age 2, but we have used it since Ava was just over one and we haven’t had any problems with it (obviously do so at your own risk). Then apparently it can be used up to age 6! So it’s definitely brilliant value for money.

The Shrunks do a range of travel beds including an outdoor toddler bed which is a more compact version of the one we have (for using in tents) and comes with a sleeping bag to attach; and a version of both the indoor and outdoor beds for older children aged from six.

The Wally Inflatable Bed Rail looks really good and would be great to use at home and away when children get a bit bigger and transition to a bed, so that you don’t have to take a big bulky bed rail away with you, or for co-sleeping this would also be brilliant. I can definitely see us getting this later on. I think all of these products are a great idea.

We were sent The Shrunks Indoor Toddler Bed to review, but all views and opinions are my own.

  1. This looks really good. My daughter has only been in a bed for a few months and we are already a little nervous for when we go away next because she is used to her small bed with a rail.

    • We really love it, it has helped us so much. My daughter is still in her cot when we are at home, but I can imagine it can be a bit scary her being in a different and bigger bed when you go away. This is a great option. Thanks for commenting Katie! 🙂

How cool! This looks so much better than the ready beds we’ve used. Is it noisey?

    • It is really good Colette; we’ve used it so much. No, I’ve never noticed it being noisy at all, I do remember the travel bed we had before this being SO noisy every time A moved but this is nothing like that x
