It is the end of August already and we are currently in Spain where we are on our family honeymoon. August actually feels like it has been a bit longer than the other months this year. Our wedding in July feels like absolutely ages ago, and then I don’t think we really did a lot during the first couple of weeks of August after a really busy July. Then we were just getting sorted for our month-long holiday.
We’re having a lovely time in Spain so far; it’s burning hot and sunny which is lovely after the rubbish English summer we’ve had. Ava has been pretty difficult though. I really thought she would adapt quickly to a different routine, with a rest in the afternoon and then a later night than she is used to, as well as the travelling. But she really isn’t taking to it well. The late nights aren’t too bad because she just sleeps later in the mornings, but she is a lot more mardy generally. And then every time we have to drive to the next place she is a blooming nightmare, really naggy, constantly saying she is hungry even after she has eaten, and really tired but won’t sleep! We’re still having a great time though, but it’s hard work.
We started off our trip in San Sebastián, which has a really lovely (busy) city beach, followed by a chilled few days in beautiful Logrono (La Rioja), and we are now on our way to Salamanca.
As we are away we should really have lots of perfect family photos for this months me and mine; but actually Ava is loathe to pose for photos at the moment and either runs away, covers her face or pulls her grumpiest face, which is a big shame whilst we are away.
Luckily I have a few of our wedding photos to share. Technically I am cheating as they were taken in July, but I can’t not share them, can I? I hope you don’t mind. They are actually screenshots from the slideshow our photographer sent to us; we won’t get the actual photos until we are back home again.
Here are a few of the three of us taken at our wedding. There aren’t actually that many of all of us as Ava was having too much fun playing with the other kiddo’s.
We will be away for most of September, which is lovely. In a couple of days we will be travelling from Spain (Salamanca) to Portugal (Porto to start with), and then back again towards the middle of September. It should hopefully be a really exciting month.
