July Favourites: Wedding Edition

5th August 2015

This month I have a few random favourites as well as plenty of wedding related one’s. I got married on the nineteeth of July so of course I have to include some of the things that were a part of my wedding.

My Wedding Dress

I couldn’t not include it could I? I was rather in love with this pretty little thing, and I really didn’t want to take it off. I’m still quite sad that I’ll never get to wear it again.

Also loving the giant balloons we had from Dottie and Love Balloons.

Eyebrow Threading

I put off getting my eyebrows done until just a few weeks before my wedding, as I had never had it done professionally before and I was struggling to get a recommendation from anybody which was what I was hoping for. I was pretty worried that they were going to rip the majority of my eyebrows off and I would end up with thin little worms after growing them out for ages.  I ended up going to the Benito Brow Bar in Debenhams on a recommendation from my wedding make up artist, and it was brilliant. It bloody hurt, but it has made such a difference.

Eyebrow Threading is kind of like magic in that it somehow makes your eyebrows look thicker even though hairs are being removed. The shape of mine is so much better now and I wish I’d got it done ages ago. I don’t feel like a Yeti anymore. Mine do grow back super quickly though, annoyingly.

I still would like them to be thicker and bigger overall so I’m going to try and grow them out whilst using something like this bhmd thick and full brow enhancing serum, but still get them threaded to keep them tidy whilst I try to get them a bit fuller.

Armani Code Eau de Parfum

I have used this perfume for years now and I still absolutely love it. It has got to the point where I can’t smell it on myself for very long, but that happens with all perfumes I find, and people still compliment me on how nice I smell!

I thought about getting a new special perfume for my wedding day – the temptation of my first visit to a Jo Malone store was pretty strong – but I resisted, and decided that it would be nice to wear the perfume that I always wear on my special day,  rather than try and find another that I love as much.

I have no idea how to describe the smell of Armani Code but they describe it as “a seductive and feminine fragrance combining orange flower notes with fresh ginger and the caress of a honey-sandalwood accord.” Well, yes, that’s what I was going to say. I just love it.

Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm

I have used this beautiful cleansing balm for about a year now and I absolutely love it. It feels so soft and luxurious and really cleanses the skin so wonderfully and removes all make up. I had never spent anywhere near this much on a cleanser before I bought this (on Caroline Hirons’ recommendation) but it has really made a difference to my skin and it lasts me ages.

It contains Moringa seed extract, Wild Sea Fennel and Vitamin E to balance, purify and help to minimise the appearance of open pores, and Grape Seed Oil and Sweet Almond Oil rich in essential fatty acids help to plump and soften the skin. It smells so good and I really enjoy using it.

Magnesium Oil

Apparently the majority of us are likely to be deficient in Magnesium nowadays. I have taken Magnesium in tablet form for a couple of years now (and still do) as deficiency can be linked with migraines and poor sleep, both of which I suffer from. However, I have recently learnt that absoprtion is best straight through our skin. I have been using this Magnesium Oil Spray for a few months now and I really like using it knowing that I am getting a good dose of Magnesium. From what I understand you can’t overdose on Magnesium as your body just gets rid of what it doesn’t need, and the effects of a lack of Magnesium can be extreme, so I spray my stomach with this every evening before bed. It can apparently make you sleepy, although I haven’t found that.

It does tingle when you first start to use it (for some people) and it still does for me if I get some on a different part of my body, but that is supposed to suggest that you are deficient and it will stop when you’re body has enough again. This Magnesium Oil delivers this essential mineral in it’s most absorbable form.

My Wedding Ring

I am really enjoying wearing my new wedding ring! I love how much it sparkles and I love that it reminds me that I am now married! I still can’t believe it to be honest, and I feel like I am making it up if I have to write my new surname anywhere. I had my ring made and am really happy with my choices and feel like it is really me. My mum’s old wedding ring is actually inside mine for sentimental value, and my husband has his Grandad’s within his. It makes me happy.

Do you have any particular favourites at the moment? I’d love to know!
